Visit from Florida

In the Kneipp Center, President Ingeborg Pongratz and Secretary General Sigrid Rau welcomed the first guest from USA, Mrs. Mary-Rachel Clark-Wagner. She is currently staying for a Kneipp introductory course in Bad Wörishofen.

On this trip, Ms. Clark-Wagner would like to get information about the transfer of the Kneipp philosophy to the USA. Her vision is to found a Kneipp association based on the German model in her native Florida / USA and become a member of KneippWORLDWIDE.

Interestingly, at the end of the 19th century there were Kneipp spa facilities that are no longer to be found today. For many years she has been an enthusiastic user of Traditional European Medicine and thus of naturopathy according to Pastor Sebastian Kneipp. During her stay in Heidelberg for several years she already got to know the procedure of Sebastian Kneipp. Sigrid Rau and Ingeborg Pongratz informed Ms. Clark about the history, the present organization, structure and hierarchy of the Kneipp movement at home and abroad.

KneippWORLDWIDE was founded in 1962 and today has about 40,000 members in 40 countries. The natural healing process is increasingly attracting international attention. KneippWORLDWIDE has developed joint projects at European level, e.g. the recent project of "Hiking mile for the health", was a very positive result of the cooperation with the Kneipp associations from Styria / Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary.

Ms. Clark-Wagner took a lot of information on Kneipp projects such as Kneipp in the kindergarten, at school, Kneipp in care as well as different training opportunities along the way, which she would like to explore. It is possible that she is coming for a week training with medical-therapeutic professionals to Bad Wörishofen in the autumn of 2020. With the Federal Managing Director Thomas Hilzensauer, President Ingeborg Pongratz and Secretary General Sigrid Rau wished Ms. Clark-Wagner much joy in the implementation of her Kneipp ideas in Florida / USA and invited her to the IKAT 2019, the International Kneipp Action Days in Hungary in June.

Inquiries about travelling to Hungary should be submitted to the state office Kneipp-Bund Landesverband Bayern at Tel. 089/568507 or by e-mail to info@kneipp-lv-bayern.de
