Kneipp WORLDWIDE visiting Hungary

President Ingeborg Pongratz and Secretary General Sigrid Rau visited the venue of the next I.K.A.T.

The next International Kneipp Action Days (I.K.A.T.) will take place in Vas County, western Hungary from 20th to 23rd June 2019. Participants from all over Europe will not only have the opportunity to exchange and deepen their knowledge of the five elements of Kneipp health education, but also get to know the country and its people.

In mid-November, Ingeborg Pongratz, President of Kneipp WORLDWIDE, and Sigrid Rau, Secretary General of Kneipp WORLDWIDE, had a first impression of the Central European country - and the warm hospitality with which they were welcomed in Hungary. During their visit they were able to get to know different places in Vas County, where a colorful program awaits the participants this summer. One of the first stopovers was the birthplace of St. Martin: the town of Szombathely. The remarkable episcopal see should be on the agenda of every visitor interested in culture. Mrs. Pongratz and Mrs. Rau were particularly impressed by the Bishop's Palace, which was shown to them during a private, German-led tour. The cathedral of ‘Our Lady of the Visitation’ is one of the largest churches in Hungary. In front of the cathedral, a Kneipp action space will be created in June. The visitors of the I.K.A.T. can look forward to another cultural program as well: Hungarian folklore, a dynamic spectacle of music and dance. The mayor of Szombathely is the patron of the I.K.A.T. 2019.

A visit to the herb garden of Caritas is also on the agenda of the I.K.A.T. In addition to visiting the garden, participants will also be shown the corresponding products, made from their own herbs, such as honey, tea or pleasantly scented lavender pillows. The President and Secretary General visited this garden during their stay and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere there. The idyllic garden in Olaszfa made this impression even more pronounced: the indigenous flora of the garden invited the visitor to linger. There is a Kneipp-House in the middle of the garden, which encourages active participation during the I.K.A.T.

The next International Kneipp Action Days offer a diverse program, in a country that convinced the President and the Secretary General with its rustic and rural charm. The cordiality with which the two guests were received in Hungary is only one of the many reasons to participate in the next I.K.A.T. 2019.

In order to make the journey as pleasant as possible, participants can take a transfer from the airports in Vienna or Graz to Western Hungary. Accommodation is available in the thermal city of Sárvár. Further information and a registration form can be found at www.ikat2019.eu. Western Hungary is looking forward to having you!
