On the occasion of the opening reception of the International Kneipp-Games (Internationale Kneipp-Aktions-Tage / I.K.A.T.) on Thursday, June 23rd 2011, the president of Kneipp Worldwide, Marion Kaspers-Merk, appealed for a stronger focus on prevention. Prof. Dr. Annette Schavan, patroness of the I.K.A.T. and Federal Minister for Education and Research in Germany, was able to contribute some good news: the issue of prevention will be taken into consideration in the new federal program for the promotion of health as one of six key areas.
Just before the opening of the I.K.A.T., five associations involved in the Kneipp Games presented their five theses on health policy to the public. Our photo shows (from the left): Prof. Dr. Gerd Schnack (German Association for Preventive Medicine and Prevention-Management / Deutsche Gesellschaft für Präventivmedizin und Präventionsmanagement e.V.), Dr. Eva Lischka (Physician’s Society for Therapeutical Diet and Nutrition / Ärztegesellschaft für Heilfasten und Ernährung e.V.), Marion Caspers-Merk (Kneipp Worldwide/Kneipp Association / Kneipp Worldwide/Kneipp-Bund e.V.), Thomas Götz (Spa and tourism Ueberlingen / Kur und Touristik Überlingen), Rudolf Forcher (Spa Association Baden-Württemberg / Heilbäderverband Baden-Württemberg) und Achim Bädorf (Association of German Kneipp-Spas and Kneipp-Spa-Communities / Verband deutscher Kneipp-Heilbäder und Kneipp-Kurorte).
